Xuan's Lectures on calculation of Grobner Bases (.mw file) Assignment 3 is now available. Note about your project proposals: The main thing is that you get started (its the hardest thing). It's not so much what you do, since later that can change, but getting started. Secondly, one possible shape to your proposal is: propose to use computer algebra to investigate X (symbolically/numerically or both). Say what X is. You will create or implement algorithms. Give some references. Finally I am happy to look at drafts of your proposal, even if they are very rough. The main thing is to get started! References for Classical Dynamics: Our basic reference here is a small subset of David Tong's excellent Cambridge course notes: Classical Dynamics Sections that you should read are: 1.1, 1.2 (omit 1.2.1), 2.2 (omit 2.2.1, omit 2.2.2), 2.3. You might be also interested in some of the other material at David Tong's web site including his wonderful talk on how to give talks that don't suck. The first two lectures are available:
